چکیده

Texture is an intuitive concept Every child knows that leopards have spots but tigers have stripes that curly hair looks di erent from straight hair etc In all these examples there are variations of intensity and color which form certain repeated patterns called visual texture The patterns can be the result of physical surface properties such as roughness or oriented strands which often have a tactile quality or they could be the result of re ectance di erences such as the color on a surface Even though the concept of texture is intuitive we recognize texture when we see it a precise de nition of texture has proven di cult to formulate This di culty is demonstrated by the number of di erent texture de nitions attempted in the literature

Image retrieval using the combination of text-based and content-based algorithms

Image retrieval is an important research field which has received great attention in the last decades. In this paper, we present an approach for the image retrieval based on the combination of text-based and content-based features. For text-based features, keywords and for content-based features, color and texture features have been used. Query in this system contains some keywords and an input...

Texture feature extraction for content-based image retrieval using fractional integral masks

Image retrieval based on texture features is getting unusual concentration because texture is an important feature of natural images. In this paper, we intend to implement texture features extraction technique for content-based image retrieval using fractional integral masks. We propose one general fractional integral mask on eight directions for texture features extraction. Experiments show th...

Content Based Image Retrieval using Combined Features of Color and Texture Features with SVM Classification

Retrieval of an image is a more effective and efficient for managing extensive image database. Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is a one of the image retrieval technique which uses user visual features of an image such as color, shape, and texture features etc. It permits the end user to give a query image in order to retrieve the stored images in database according to their similarity to t...

Analysis and Comparison of Texture Features for Content Based Image Retrieval

Texture is one of the important features used in CBIR systems. The methods of characterizing texture fall into two major categories: Statistical and Structural. An experimental comparison of a number of different texture features for content-based image retrieval is presented in this paper. The primary goal is to determine which texture feature or combination of texture features is most efficie...

Comparison of Some Content-based Image Retrieval Systems with Rock Texture Images

Texture is commonly used feature in most of the content-based image retrieval systems. This texture retrieval ability can be also applied to rock texture. The retrieval of the rock texture is a demanding task because of special character of rock. In this paper some existing contentbased image retrieval systems are tested with a sample set representing clearly different rock images. The recall a...

Enhancing capabilities of Texture Extraction for Color Image Retrieval

Content-Based Image Retrieval has been a major area of research in recent years. Efficient image retrieval with high precision would require an approach which combines usage of both the color and texture features of the image. In this paper we propose a method for enhancing the capabilities of texture based feature extraction and further demonstrate the use of these enhanced texture features in...
